The fashion industry is responsible for an estimated 10% of global carbon emissions, significantly impacting the planet. Unfortunately, it is one of the most polluting industries. At Aya Studio London, sustainability is crucial to us because we care deeply about our planet and our future. Since our inception, we have continuously strived to improve by sourcing the most sustainable fabrics and production processes. We are committed to enhancing our environmental and social impact with every new collection, both in terms of design and sustainability.

As Aya Studio London, we prioritize sustainability and aim to make denim fun, fashionable, and less harmful to the environment. In our debut collection, Sound of Denim, we incorporated upcycled designs by acquiring unused denim pieces from manufacturers and transforming them into new, well-received products using innovative applications. Our recent collaboration with HMS (Hand Made Stone) has enabled us to make significant strides in sustainability. HMS, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional pumice, is made from upcycled pumice dust. By using HMS instead of traditional pumice-stonewash, we have significantly reduced our carbon footprint and utilized less water and energy. This alternative washing technique eliminates the need for additional chemicals to achieve an abrasion effect on our denim pieces.

2. No additional chemicals are needed to create effects on denim, reducing environmental impact.
3. HMS performs in cold water, eliminating the energy required to heat water.
4. This technique uses nearly 50% less water than conventional stonewashing.
5. Unlike traditional pumice washing, which produces excessive sludge that contaminates landfills, our innovative washing process minimizes environmental contamination.
6. No additional chemicals are needed for abrasion effects on our denim pieces.
7. Most importantly, this process does not compromise the fabric's durability, ensuring our denim pieces become cherished additions to your wardrobe.
